Professor Dr. P. R. Sodani

Prof. P. R. Sodani, has been appointed as President (Vice Chancellor) of the IIHMR University, Jaipur, India. He holds the position of Dean, Institute of Health Management Research, at the IIHMR University with more than two decades of experience in teaching, research, training, consultancy and management. He has established the Center for Health Economics at the University and is the Founder Director of the Center. He holds appointment with the Department of International Health, at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA for teaching MPH program. He holds PhD (Health Economics) and MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. Area of interest includes health systems/policy, health economics/financing, quality of care. He has extensively contributed in these areas through research, training, education, consulting and networking at national and international level. He has conceptualized, designed and conducted large number of Health Systems Policy Research projects. He has developed and conducted large number of Executive Education Programs for national and international participants.

Prof. Sodani is associate editor of Journal of Health Management, a SAGE Publications and frequently receives request to review papers for national and international journals of repute. Prof. Sodani has published a book on Managing Quality in Health Care which has been widely distributed in India and abroad for public health courses. Prof. Sodani has worked on various assignments for Johns Hopkins University, World Bank, WHO, BMGF, GAIN, UNFPA, UNICEF, Development Partners, and Governments.

Prof. Sodani is Secretary-General of the South East Asia Public Health Education Institutions Network (SEA PHEIN). The network (SEAPHEIN) is supported by WHO-SEARO, to promote and encourage public health education movement in South-East Asia Region. Prof. Sodani has been instrumental in establishing the India Public Health Education Institutions Network (IndiaPHEIN) and hold the position of Secretary to IndiaPHEIN.
