Prof. Dr. Sarah Wamala Andersson

Health and Welfare Technology, Mälardalens University, Sweden.

Dr. Sarah’s passion is to translate science into practice and contribute to making a difference in real life using scientific results and contribute to sustainability. She has spent a substantial amount of working life outside academia, which has given her a unique opportunity to observe critical research gaps faced by providers, payers, decision-makers, and the private sector.

 *Previous experience (selection):

 -Principal research scientist for several multi-national pharmaceutical companies regarding real-world evidence for new innovative medical treatments and technologies

 -Director-General of the Swedish Public Health Agency (Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs)

 -Professor of Health Policy and Management (Karolinska Institutet)

 -Director of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (Stockholm County Council).

Dr. Sarah acquired academic training from various international universities (Ph.D. in Medical Sciences, a Master’s degree in Biostatistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics), as a guest research scientist at Wellington School of Medicine (New Zealand), and completed the Stanford Executive Program (SEP) from Stanford Graduate School of Business, USA.

She believes in mindset being everything and human interconnectedness as the basis for innovation and productivity in a sustainable way. Dr. Sarah is the author of the recent book - Shift your mind and make yourself great again.
